Hello dear dispatchers,

Here's a list of changes for the upcoming update of the New City Mechanics, that will release on 24th August 2021.

💵 Discontinuation of the Train Bucks system 💵

We are saying goodbye to the Train Bucks system and the Passenger Region. Instead of using a separate Region for collecting Train Bucks, the Passenger jobs will now switch to collecting Gold Coins instead.

With this update, the way how Gold Coins are collected will be overhauled. Now, the Gold Coins will be exchanged for Passengers and will be collected from two destinations only, in your highest and second-highest Region (for example, if you are currently in Region 4, the Gold Collection destinations will be available in Regions 3 and 4). Note: Please understand that this feature is available after the City/Gold Collection Destination is unlocked on the Regional Map.

Don't worry though, you will not lose this precious resource. The amount of Gold Coins that can be collected from these destinations will be based on a multiplier factor to cover the amount that would have been collected from all of the destinations before. The idea behind this change is to make collecting Gold Coins easier and less tedious, while utilizing the Passenger population of your City.

Your currently-collected Train Bucks will be removed from your game and a compensation of 50 Gems will be shared with you on release of this update.

🧭 Say hello to Vilma 🧭

For those of you who will have excess Passengers, there will also be a new type of Job, the Tourism Job, which will require Passengers for completion as well. As rewards you will find additional Gold Coins here as well as Train Upgrade Parts. These new Jobs will be distinguishable in the Job list by the light blue-green color of the header along with the new Contractor, Vilma.

To give you a quick introduction to the Tourism Jobs, Vilma will have a 5-stage storyline. After that, her jobs will spawn randomly in your unlocked Regions and can be found in the Job list.

Following this change, the Station in your City will not be tappable anymore (as it will not allow you to go to the Passenger Region), however the visual of Passengers waiting for the train will still be there.

There's also a change to the Passengers interface - when looking at the Passenger amount in your city, you can tap on this number to get a dropdown with further information about how many Passengers you have and how many you need for the next Warehouse upgrade. Now, there's also a new button that will allow you to send a train full of Passengers to the nearest Gold Coin destination. This means a train will be dispatched to the Gold Destination in the highest-available Region with the train with the highest-available capacity.

🚢 A new take on the Ship Trade 🚢

The Ship Trade mechanic has been re-built from ground up to better suit the playstyle that we see in our players. Now, instead of a timer, the Ship can be called to the City using a Ship Ticket. Each players can receive up to 3 Ship Tickets for free, with which they can call on the Ship at their leisure.

So, instead of waiting for the Ship Trade to cool down, you can instantly call upon the Ship to come to your City with a trade proposal. Once you finish this trade, you can call on a next Ship after that. Or if you do not like the trade on offer, you can just dismiss the Ship and call another one to your City.

Since for some players 3 Ship Tickets, that can be collected for free may not be enough, more tickets can be purchased for Gems.

The trade offers on the Ship Trade are being revamped as well. Now you can get up to 6 different types of items in one Ship Trade. Please note that this means that a Ship Trade may offer any number of types of items between 3 and 6, however the amount of items will be still the same. So, you may get more items but with less variety or more variety with smaller number of items per type.

🌇 Building upgrade mechanics 🌇

The way Buildings in your City are being upgraded is being changed as well. Buildings should now require a mix of City Upgrade Tools and Materials from Factories/Regions.

The way upgrading of buildings has been set up until now was, that an upgrade required either City Upgrade Tools or Materials from Factories/Regions. Now these two requirements are being mixed together, so the upgrades should be more approachable for players who did not manage to collect enough City Upgrade Tools from all types. Hopefully this way a higher Population will be reachable for all levels of players.

There is also a slight tweak to the way Passengers can be collected from the buildings. After placing a building in your City or upgrading it, you will get a 4-hour worth of passengers instantly as a bonus. This can be collected by tapping on the Passenger icon above the building and should help players boost their passenger count more quickly (with a possible higher boost being currently considered for players at higher levels).
