What do you do with Whistles

I haven't been paying attention to my whistles in a while, and have inadvertently saved up a lot.

Got me thinking - what do people do with their whistles? Use them immediately, or save them up?

based on previous achievements and special events, i keep 500 in stock.. when i get bored... i whistle away.. currently i am around 4027 of them... i guess im not too bored yet.. :

burn through 100 to 200 hundred at a time when the updates take place, trying to pick up any re-rostered old locos for the museum

Usually when I am really close to a level and am sending out lots of passenger trains, if I run out of passengers I'll hit the whistles to get to the next level so that the passenger counter resets.

(Works even better if you only clear the two hyperloop tracks).

Hope and pray for those damn elusive missing locos for the museum.... but live more in hope than expectation. None from the last 5000 whistles used.

Like most I tend to keep a comfortable float of whistles in store and use any extra ones.

And yes do consider which lines to block. Whistle just loops for exp, just maglevs for materials, or diesel rails for the rare locos.

But esp at lower levels - whistling is a very good way to gain exp and materials. One of my alts on lvl 125 made 2 levels just from collecting ET from neighbours and a dozen whistles! All that just to buy the EMD GP9 :)

Wow - neat to read about folks stacking up.

When I was lower levels I used to save them and then use them for that final push to up level. Now that I'm a higher level I tend to use them less unless there's a goal to use X whistles.

Funny, I thought I had a 'lot' having just cracked 1K whistles, but I'm a kit compared to the 4-6K you guys have lying around...

I do this too sometimes. But I normally keep a modest reserve, approx 200-300, in case I suddenly need a some for a new achievement or whatever.

I am still missing 9 locomotives for the museum then I am LvL 56 and they want to go despite the whistles I just do not come

Whenever I get a museum piece come in i try and press 50 whistles - this keeps them down and increases your odds of getting more museum pieces.

whistle use... basically, when i get close to the next level in xp points, i will whistle in only h.loop trains, with appx 100k xp per train, it helps... to do this.. fill your express tracks, and only click on the h.l. trains, then when you use your whistles, you will get h.l. trains only...

Yes. But I don't get 100K XPs per. They seem to range from 29K to 150K. The best I ever got was 350K. But mostly it;s 60-90K per HL train. But I'm only at level 509 (though close to 510). :|
