Game Update - 03.08.2022 - Ape Archipelago - Week 1

Ahoy, captain!
It’s time we set off on another pirate adventure. Take a moment to find out about the fresh updates.

EVENT
A new event Ape Archipelago is starting today. Can you guess what is the inspiration for our newest pirate story?
We start with the pirate in making Cumwisk Quarrellog and his hunt for the treasure of the devious Vampirate DeChunk.
The event is available from player level 20 and will end on April 4th.

CONTRACTORS
Chumwisk Quarrellog - 20 contracts needs special items Map Pieces available from contractors Ellen and DeChunk

Ellen Parley - Hidden on the map, can be found through exploration.
Has 10 contracts in 5 parts.

DeChunk, the Vampirate - Hidden on the map, can be found through exploration. Has 10 contracts in 5 parts.

DESTINATIONS & MATERIALS
Special time-limited coin destinations - Pirate Loot are hidden on the map.

Event Materials
Voodoo Doll, Grog and Pirate Hat are available from the new map destinations.

Red Herrings - can drop from the barrels floating in your port and can be sold at the Market Town

Doubloon - reward exchangeable for gems. Is available by completing tasks

EVENT SHIPS
New event ships are available in the shop

No effort made to create different style ships for the higher level people. A Maersk container ship again just different colour. Low storage capacity just a simple 2min adjust from last month. Plenty more types or design off ships can be done. Should have done the bulk carrier from Escape Plan

pixel_player17177741 I think you're just going to have to get over it if you're talking 6 slot mega-ships. There's just not much they can do unless they go fantasy. Those big ships do look pretty much alike irl - long, low, flat, with boxes piled all over them in tidy rows. The earlier container ships did have more interesting bows at least, but the mega-ships are now pretty much just flat space. I did a quick search and don't see any kind of superstructure on any of them.

I did used to enjoy the different looks of my ships, too. I kept the catamaran in my active fleet long after it made much sense. I chose Cephalopod over the other option because it looked unique. I keep Navorsen II in my active fleet because I like it, even though it's useless for anything but treasure chests, social contract, and the market daily task (outside of the big, multi exploration events). But once we got up to the bigger ships, they all looked a lot alike and/or pretty ugly, so it stopped mattering so much to me.

There should be a better prize for completing all the contracts, to give us players more incentive to achieve that goal.

Same layout as last month, week 2 3 part expedition map. I hope whoever is coming up with these monthly themes are only getting paid an hour wages probably all it takes

I love the idea behind this event. To get the treasure you have to do all the event contractors. Lol expedition will get ignored for the first week again unless I am not still doing the explore.

The event actually has its roots when Adam was still working on the CM team, and we came up with the idea to create a "Totally-not-mokey-island" event during a long lunch break in 2019. It was originally supposed to be something for the games 20th anniversary but that did not work out. But we did save the idea in a document back then and... well here we are now.
If there was a reference to it on the forum, i have most likely MYST it. But you know, never say Neverhood !

Egg I am most likely sub-par in catching those hints. But it does not really explain why the theme of "Das Boot" just randomly started playing...

Egg Imagine the cursed fencing minigame. That would bust our PG rating quite SUBstantially...

This could go on for a long time. One website I visited stated that there are over 2,000 words that start with SUB.
So after playing this game for so long, perhaps we should all be SUBlieutenants by now.
