Know upgrade requirements before purchase

Is there a way to know what the upgrade requirements are before purchasing a ship? I bought the Titanic when I saw the price was reasonable and the max capacities were high, but only after I purchased did I see that the cost to upgrade even to the second level was outrageously high. I would not have bought it if I had known the upgrade reqs were that steep.

Explore the menus, and if you click on the little figure icon in the top right corner, you open a settings page, where among other things, you can put in your current game level to get more specific content.

As for the Titanic, as @Nitrum has said, it’s a long term special ship within the game. It has the potential to be with you for many hundreds of levels, and upgrading it can be viewed like a game achievement, as it can not be speeded up with gems.

You should think of Titanic as a project that will take many levels to fully upgrade rather than a ship you can upgrade to 5 stars immediately. It will stay in your fleet for a long time and can be upgraded as you progress up the levels.

I think I fully upgraded Titanic when I was around level 400, and it's back in my fleet for the Ahab exploration at level 686.

Instead of looking solely at the expense of the upgrades,

I only finished my Titanic around level 500. So she is really a long term project. But she is worth it. I also added the sixth and seventh star with chevrons. She has more than 1000 cargo per slot now, which is more than the majority of my ships offer.
