I heard the 2500 gears were a last minute change. It was 25000 originally. As well as it were 43000 fuel in one of the later contracts at first (now 4300), you would have needed nearly 30 days to even collect the oil for this, but at least you would have been able to start this already during the 10 days to produce the cogs.
Isn't it great how much good ideas for the game were rejected in the past because they might cause problems with balancing, if balancing is something which is meanwhile that less understood, that even the fixed version is totally insane to do?
If someone at PF would actually invest just a couple of hours to play Seaport alongside the other work at the level for the contractor and without godmode and unlimited gems, he would find out quickly that the workshop is not even producing enough for ship upgrades even if you don't use any workshop products for the job bored, so using it for a contractor on top was the most annoying idea for quite a long while...
