Acrat .....Doing all the regular contractors while keeping up with events is extremely hard for anyone who has started less than a year ago....
Correction ! Doing all the regular contractors while keeping up with events is extremely hard for anyone who hasn't completely upgraded their primary port buildings and are consuming resources for ship upgrades as well.
Columbus; to make the farm available.
John Kendrick; to make general goods available.
Isabella of Castile; to make the lagoon available.
This 3 contractors plus the contractors before them that would make them available, are the only contractors that you really need to be concerned about. After that would be James Cook to make his exploration ship Resolution available. (I didn't put any priority in acquiring the ship Resolution, until about level 400.)
Perminent contractors aren't going anywhere. The ships that they reward you with, if they make your active fleet, will not be there long. As one player has put it they are penalty ships.
I have no intention of upgrading my production buildings any further. If I'm not going to use them. why upgrade them? My other port buildings are putting on their top-tier upgrade as we speak. ....yet! I still have fourteen perminent contractors that I have not done. Right now I am taking a break by sending my ships on 8 hour trips both day & night. Like others, I'm experiencing burnout. But I really like the game of seaport, so I'm doing my best to ward it off. Right now, I find this forum more interesting than the game.
I come back to the game each week to fulfill event tasks, and when I get back into the game I'll have plenty of perminent contractors to keep me busy.
Reprise ! .....Doing all the regular contractors while keeping up with event tasks is extremely hard for anyone who hasn't completely upgraded their primary port buildings and are consuming resources for ship upgrades as well.
