Seaport Mobile - Video Rewards

Hello Captains,

if you are playing on mobile you might notice in the coming days that when you collect shipwreck you will be able to earn double rewards by watching a short ad. This is a new feature that we are launching currently only on mobile. This feature is still in a test phase and we will keep an eye on the situation on how it will work.
We are still looking into the possibility of adding the feature to the Browser version, there are some issues with the video rewards that we have to work out and based on that we will or won't add them.

Adam_E I've just experienced the new feature and I'm quite happy with the way it works. I only object to ads when you're forced to watch.

If it helps you raise funds, go for it. You're worth it 😀

the Collect Double isn’t working for me. When I click Collect Double, the ad displays. Sometimes there is a ‘skip ad’ button after a few seconds. Sometimes I let the whole ad play then I get the cross. But regardless of if I skip or wait for the full ad to play, when it dismisses I get the blue splash screen and the gameplay sounds are playing; I have to kill the app- very annoying.
Sometimes the ads and dismiss does work though.
please can you fix it?
I am on iOS 12.1.2 on an iPhone 6S.

Adam_E The double rewards were working now have stopped. Everytime i try and claim it plays the video but then the game goes back to start up and nothing happens. Have to reboot phone to start game again please fix this as its a great idea. Thanks

Every time I’ve used this feature, the first ad I watch causes the game to reload and get stuck on the loading screen. I have to force quit the app and rewatch the ad. Should probably fix if you want people to play the game still!!!

I’m a big fan of the idea behind offering video ads in exchange for double rewards — but the execution has been atrocious. I estimate that 50% of the time when i get a video ad (not a game play simulation) the screen turns to portrait and cannot resolve — forcing me to kill the app and restart, losing the reward entirely. Phone is an iPhone XS Max. Tried with portrait lock on and off. Extremely frustrating. Please resolve.

Adam_E Hi I keep having x2 video bonus do nothing and am missing out on doubling the gold for the event, this has happened three times, plus more on the normal, this makes me think that the bonus ship will be impossible to get.

The watching-video system to get rewards is something I have experienced in a website where you were given points for carrying out certain actions. It wouldn't be a bad idea to include that type of extra prize whenever we play a video.

So I just got a total of 2000+ pemmicane + skis + furhats as bonus for ignor... uhm watching a 30sec ad (got a chest with all three of them).

That's not bad given that I'm lvl 102. After all, it's around twice my fleet capacity and roughly the storage capacity of my warehouses which is _2.5k in total .... now suddenly filled with almost 6k items.

Of course I'll take it but honestly I think these kind of video ad rewards are not in the spirit of the game.

I haven't seen any video adds in my mobile game. How come some players can get them and not others? I'm in the US. Has this been rolled out to other countries?

Baraddur Not sure if it is related but I had an update this week. Is your game updating automatically or manually ?

Baraddur I’m on iOS and had an update appear in the App Store yesterday, which allows for the video ads. Just had my first chest since the update and the video ad was there - bit jerky, but it worked. I’m in the UK by the way.

It got updated through play store today morning for me. Graylady , i think since it involves adds(3rd party integration) user has to agree/approval. App has to be manually updated if auto update is off.

Think video was around 16sec. If this feature helps company i am with you and no objection at all.

I have a question- if we get gem or equivalent in wreck, dose it get double ?

FYI, I chose to not watch the two videos for the two chests I just got because I didn't want extra experience. but, looking forward to doing it when I get the rewards I want to double. 🙂

Yes!

I had a treasure that contained 10 gems, and it did double to 20!

When claimimg double treasure after watching an ad, worked fine the first few times but now after the ad it freezes the game and I have to restart. Then I have to watch another ad for the same treasure and it freezes again. After the fourth time i just claimed the regular treasure as I have other things to do today. Is this perhaps ipad related?
