Museum upgrades.

Has anyone looked at the upgrade costs of the museum? Mine is level 17 (and full) it generates just under 4.5k gold/hour. It will take it just over 10 days to generate the 1.1 million gold the level up will require. I also need 2m wood (less of an issue). Bearing in mind that any ship I add also has to be 5 stars I'm increasingly of the opinion that I completely wasted my time and resources leveling the stupid thing up.

Thoughts? Am I missing something?

Sc00byUK I think it is a long time investment, it will pay itself back, but it will take time.

I bought the museum originally when I realized that I would get most of the coins back from an achievement if I placed 5 ships in the museum.

So far I have only upgraded it twice At the end of the Greek and Twain events as I needed xp to be able to buy the Anchiocus/Hornets...

I will soon have 4 more ships ready for the museum, so I may consider upgrading it again soon.

If I had upgraded it more earlier I might have earned it back by now, but it is usually my lowest priority.

Edited: I get 544 coins per hour for a full level 3 museum, so if you only get 4500 coins per hour for a full level 17 museum, then it looks like it will take a long time to earn the investment back, especially if you buy and upgrade ships only to put into the museum😢

As @9EVoVE9 will testify, in the beginning I was firmly against buying the Museum. I think I eventually bought it at around Level125 or so.

Now it's at Level 13 (literally finished upgrading a few minutes ago) with four new slots that I will fill shortly. I haven't done the sums on the payback period, but I agree with @Fairy that it's a long-term investment. I do buy ships just to fill it - usually the cheapest non-Gem ship from each event which I can upgrade for next to nothing!

However, the achievements for filling it are quite handy with a few Gems thrown in on top of the other materials. On balance, I'm happy with it but it's not a big deal for me either way.

You see I thought that it would pay for it's self in the long run, but now I'm less convinced. /shrug, I'll probably throw good resources after bad and keep it topped up, I've got lots of ships to throw in it after all

I just wish the yield time had capped at a day, because while each ship earns more it just keeps extending the time it takes to give it up.

That's a lot of resources I could've spent elsewhere to barely break even now? Next upgrade has given me pause for thought on it (my maths thinks I'll add about 350 gold/hour from it). meh!
