Why are some ships able to deliver to a job while others are not? In both Rotterdam and San Francisco, my larger capacity ships are not available to make deliveries.
Why upgrade ships if they are going to not be usable for larger tasks?
What is the difference between ships identified with a shield verses not?

Hello,

there are certain requirements that need to be met in order to be able to complete given job.

region requirement - the number shows the region number, 1 = San Francisco, 2 = Rotterdam, etc.
rarity requirement - the color shows the rarity requirement (blue = only rare ships, purple = only epic ships, etc.)
era requirement - you can also have requirement based on the era of the required ships (for example, only steam or diesel ships can be used to complete given job)

ROMI Thanks for explaining, a lot of newer (i.e., non-TS2) players are puzzled by the Region/Type/Fuel requirements.

PS, while I do appreciate the picture the choice of font color (with white shadow) overlaying the job list really makes the words hard to read. Of course it could just be my old eyes 😀

I got a ton of ships. How do you figure how many to upgrade and not to or sell?

There is not only one and/or the best strategy regarding upgrading the ships in the dock. In case you have more than one ship of a specific type I would recommend to you dismantle such duplicates in order to get more ship parts. Then you should be able to upgrade the ships to the fullest.
