Have you ever had the need to purchase gems for the game, I know i haven't because there's not much difference between gem and coin items in the shop and making more mine space at the camp was far easier to achieve with coins earned by the camels than spending money on gems.
I understand your point, but at the same time, most players won't respond well to being backed into purchasing gems to play a game. It takes the enjoyment away, and I feel like you'd be more likely to spend money on gems if you were having a lot of fun.
For me, I only get the opportunity to send out caravans about 3 or 4 times a day. The gold destination was fairly balanced at that rate, it wasn't like I was making huge amounts off of it. I'd agree with it being fair to keep the gold destination at 90-200, but with an 8hr or 12hr duration.
For those of you who have 512 friends that send you 3 gold a day, that's probably a great money source. I don't have that, and I think there's a fair amount of other people in the same boat. I'd rather not be penalized for not having a ton of friends playing, one of the reasons I really enjoy TrainStation is that you aren't necessarily dependent on gifts from friends.
