I am now doing the second challenge of this event and am finding the energy needed horrendous. Just came across two 33,000 blocks and one 50,000 in the same area. I am in and out of the game so fast it makes me eyes water!! No wonder it is suggested we play other games for diamonds - Diggy's certainly doesn't take much time.
