I can't believe it - I looked at what was new to buy and discovered a Christmas Cat. Good, (I'm a cat lover). However I nearly fell off my chair when I saw 2000 diamonds for a mere 260 energy. Diggy's is getting very greedy!! Meow.

There is always a 2000 gem equipment in the Christmas events. In the past other event had something similar, too. Diggy’s 4th birthday for example. But it’s of course up to each and every player to decide whether or not it is worth the investment.

I have the diamonds but I definitely do mot intend using 2000 of them for 260 energy!!

pixel_player48046502 The green stones are called gems, not diamonds. When you get to Greece, there will be diamonds so it is confusing to say diamonds when you mean gems. I see other players using the same word so I suspect it may be a translation issue for players with other native languages.

I haven't bought any of the 2000-gem items before but now that I'm in Terra, I bought the Cat. At 396, it's higher than normal event equipment and little other than the leveling awards and items bought with cash are higher. In earlier regions, I think it is sensible to not buy since it will obsoleted as you region-up, but I figure it will be quite a while before there is another region and if they release a new region, good equipment comes along slowly.

CloudSwift2 I have found that the only really good equipment is offered when you wake up a new god. That is the only time I spend real money. (But sometimes I buy the Event Pass if it has good equipment.) Sometimes I can replace equipment during Special Events, but it doesn't really make much of a difference in my camps. I have never used 2,000 gems to buy equipment so far. I usually save my gems for the Tier Offer.

digseatrain Your spending habits are very similar to mine. The new god (and new region) equipment is pretty much the only time I spend real money also and that's the money equipment that I was referring too. Those are the ones where one can get 2 slots each of really good capacity and regen. The version of the offer that comes with 85 gems about $6. Really good to me is something that is in the top dozen of regen slots or the top 6 of capacity slots - it will be in camp for more than one region, probably more than two regions - more than halfway through Terra, the last Greek one is dropping out of my camp (I only bought two packs in Greece) and all the NW ones are still in use and likely to be so for awhile. Also before New World, I only bought a few of those packs. The earlier regions are a bit easier. Very rarely, I buy an event pass - maybe 3 times so far. I bought the Christmas one because it had 3 slots of capacity and 4 of regen.

I also usually save gems for the tiered offer - the 4th option where each tier has regen and the top tier also has a capacity. At this point, I had enough gems to buy the Cat and still have plenty left for future tiered offers.
