It's horrific.

Why the need to go all cutesy, chaotic, cartoony on us?
One of the lovely things about Diggy was its quiet, restrained graphics. Now it's just so LOUD! And as an Autistic person, that means it's pretty unbearable for me now.

And the dissonance between the new parts and the design of the whole of the rest of the game is incredible! The visual equivalent of adding a foghorn as an innovative feature in your rendition of Vivaldi's Spring...

To echo others:
Virtually unreadable bold font, which is way too big for the shapes it's in, making it more unreadable...
Ditto new star/coin icons
Flying reward graphics mean you can't see what you're digging.
Tile counter covers up the playing field, and is "backwards".
Things have been moved to really unintuitive places.
There's a lot of lag.

What a lot of effort some people have put in, for absolutely no discernable benefit.

MadameCurie Look, I spent money here. And what happened on the last update? a visual redesign that is actually downgrade the appearance of the game. Why changed it? The game simply looks like a toddlers game that mums put on ipad… are you gonna make it easier as to toddlers game? seriously I wanna feedback about it. I will wait to return to old look before quitting

Seriously hating the new look. It's gone from nice clean lines and easy to read numbers/text to some cartooney mess that my ancient eyes are having trouble adjusting to. At least give the option of having selectable looks, similar to picking which Diggy you want. I'd be back to the old look in a heartbeat.

I too find the redesign horrendous, but there are also objectively bad things about it besides being ugly (which is admittedly subjective):

The new font for the score/coin meters etc. is too thick, and difficult to read.
Additionally, the increased contrast of the backgrounds of the various score meters make them even more difficult to visually parse.
And why, oh, why move things around for no reason?
During gameplay, there is now a noticeable lag for each tile removed. Previously there was only one when the last tile was cleared, presumably to load some resource (and honestly, that lag should never have been present in the first place), but now it is a constant annoyment. I have noticed that many of the graphical assets seem to not be cached at all, but loaded every time I start the game, which seems fantastically wasteful.
Also, the icons and text that fly around when you clear tiles have now gone from being slightly annoying to completely covering up the gameplay making it impossible to see what you are doing.
The "Tiles to dig" text is just wrong, since the digits underneath it shows how many tiles you already have cleared.

There are definitely more things, but these are the screaming-in-your-face obvious ones.

Is there a special effects settings in your game that is turned on?
If so turn it off.

pixel_player65105843 I completely agree with all these issues….especially ones about things being visually difficult to read and the tile contents obscuring your view of game play—how about having them just fly UP and out of the way quickly! But my main issue is why did you move the EVENT PASS Icon to the lower right hand side of the screen?!? I am continually hitting that and getting bounced out of my game screen!!! UGH! Don’t put icons in the lower right hand side!!

I can sum this up in three words: I HATE IT.

And in a few more words: The whole thing is totally inconsistent. A mixup of new (not looking good at all) and old. Please make a setting to let user choose between the old and the new.

The topics mentioned by the previous post are the same I would have mentioned. Completely agree with the above posts. The blocky capitals font is very hard to read, especially when it's white text on a black background (e.g. the energy bar). This new aesthetic doesn't match up with the menus either, which in comparison look even more clean and well-designed than they did before.

I turned off the special effects settings and it changed exactly NOTHING at all. Or at least not the annoying flying animation when digging.

Why wasting time and energy to make new designs, when there are so many other problems to solve? Is it a special kind of prokrastination?
It was okay so far, so why did you change it at all?
No one did complain about the design.....

They say „ The new visual was created based on the feedback we gathered“.

I never heard someone asking for such a change, but if they say it, they must have had some people wishing for it.

This thread will be another feedback, and so far it’s a very clear picture 😄

I like the new look, except for that "Tiles to dig" box. This is firstly unnecessary, secondly too big and thirdly not what it is showing.
A new bug is, when in the underground and clicking the back to camp button, this click also activates the item in camp on that place, at the moment the ad 'Lord o/t Christmas rings'.

I don’t have the new design on my game yet, because I use an apple ipad and apples ripe slowly, getting all things a bit later.

But I have some thoughts about the issue, as I could see some screenshots, and they mirror yours.

May I ask if you played mobile only or if you also played on PC some times?

Because I never liked the PC design. Your words describe it well how I felt with it: Confusing, everything shattered around, noisy, loud and disturbing my wish for a relaxed, calm gameplay.

I admit that I started with mobile and am used to it. So for regular PC players I guess they are used to it and know where everything is.

I will wait with my verdict until I have it in my game. Although I wish they would just cancel it right away and never bother me with it 😄

I guess, for regular PC players that sometimes use mobile, they will like it maybe.

I also tried this, and failed to see what the difference was either...
It would have been better to remove the flyout symbols completely, with this option, to at least have better animation speed and improve lag delay speed.

Hi, no, I've only ever played on Android. And only on my mobile too, so I'm on a small screen. I thought about trying the PC version, but looked at some vids and didn't much like the differences in look.
