No, it doesn't. The journal pages can be found in you backpack (choose materials and then miscellaneous). Also, if you are working on a father's quest that requires you to find journal pages, you can see your progress there.
Edit to add: if you use the app, a little icon indicates the locations that you can find a page, but it doesn't say whether you actually found it or not.
