I will probably need around 3200 gems for all four.
Strategy 1 would have been the best with highest average and lowest gem requirements in total.
With strategy 2 i have to spent to many gems to reach 20+( 30-300 each time)

@Diggy.Jones#393707 knowing what I know now, I would have sped everything up on day 1.
Leaving 36-42 free attempts at cooking.
2500-2100 average. (then best aim for 18-19th item)
880 gems.
then likely add 120 gems for 30 gem saves. 1000 for 4 equip.

But that is the statistical part, there is an important part about when to use gem saves for 30 gems. I do feel relatively safe placing up to 20 items on the board and the closer I get to that, the more I consider a gem save (also depending on how many 4 of a kind i have becoming a potential 5 of a kind after chili save). I used 4 saves so far, 3 payed off and probably should have used one more. I might need risk some 21x to get average back on track for 3rd equip, using potential gem save without picking again.

Yes that's statistics for you though.
I just got 3 chillis in 1st 6 moves, and have 22 ingredients.
Too many get this.
Good it works for some people.
So glad the rewards were not worth anything.

Roeland you feel safe to get to 20 items? Wtf? How?

Did you pay gems to do the spinner and get all the ingredients? I have gotten no ingredients all day, just pots and gems. Gems are ok, but what are the pots for? Like, 6 pots is going to make a difference?

Arggg.

I got past 10 items once.

Roeland I go all or nothing because the first item is the most expensive. I lower my cost per item by getting all four.

In French, we do. We would never have written that "aktualisi-eren". It would have been "aktuali-sieren". I find it odd that Germans wouldn't have set up rules for that when they have such a well structured language. 😜

That has nothing to do with German, we have the same rule you described.
It has everything to do with pixel not providing quality in the translations. They are mostly bad, sometimes terrible, often enough completely wrong and if you are unlucky, misleading.
And forget about grammar.
I play one account in German, the second in English.

In the event „Pirates“ for example, you are told to push the turtles „into the water“ and „aus dem Wasser“ , the latter meaning the exact opposite.

Actually I thought of helping them out, out of pure mercy. With them and with my bleeding language heart... But then, they make enough money to do it properly. But then again, I still play, and it affects me more than most I guess. So why should they...

So maybe you are just lucky that pixel has some decent french speaking capacity 😉

AllMenAreIslands getting ingredients is a different thing than placing them. Statistically it was never likely you would get all 20 ingredients out of 45 items before the 43rd spin.
The cooking game itself I would now say in my case I need at least get to 20 items placed on the board. But must be willing to use 30gem saves. I am convinced this whole thing can be done in 1000 gems if you speed up the 20gem ingredient spins fully on day1 and get to use 36-42 free spins at an average of 2500-2140. Sadly I had prepared for a 7 day event . But anyone expecting good points before you have 24 ingredients: just forget it, the whole statistics implodes when you dont have all ingredients. Be prepared to spend 1000 gems or dont even touch this monster.(maybe you can aim at lower amounts of equipment, but likely they would end up costing a bit more per equip.)

MadameCurie No, no, no! Don't be mistaken! The game in French is crapy, to be polite. I've pointed it out to them and they told me that the translations were provided by French-speaking players. I highly doubt it, or it most certainly is not their first language. It's worthy of Google Translate, that is to say that it's mostly what we call "calques" (I don't know what the right word in English would be for that - "Pause" auf Deutsch?): direct translation of the expressions with no regards as to the meaning, or lack thereof.
Luckily, I speak English well enough to spot it and just read it in English in my head. And it only mislead me once, so much so that I had to change my language preference in my settings to go read it in English.

If I was you I would be feeling absolutely livid too!!!!

Sounds like Pixel needs to be more transparent with everyone......especially dedicated players like yourself who invest a tremendous amount of work, energy, time, effort & expertise to provide information to other players via Wiki, maps, videos, guides, strategies, etc.

I believe that Pixel should have provided either yourself or all players with all the percentages of chance so that information could of been made publicly available (on Wiki) & was completely transparent so that all players could make informed decisions on whether to spend their hard earned gems on this Chilli Out Event or not.

I also think that once you have spent 30 gems to put the Chilli Sauce back into the Sack....then that bottle of Chilli Sauce should either be completely removed from that cooking round (preferred).....or at least removed for a guaranteed number of spots on the Cooking Grid.

I also find it ridiculously exorbitant that each time you put a Chilli Sauce back into the Sack in the same cooking round that the cost increases by 30 gems each time.....1st time costs 30 gems....2nd time costs 60 gems....3rd time costs 90 gems....4th time costs 120 gems....so on so forth....with no guarantee that after you have paid the gems that a Chilli Sauce won't come straight back out on the next move.....it should be flat rate of 30 gems everytime...not increasingly more gems each time.

This Chilli Out Event is quintessentially a gambling game with mediocre rewards that are virtually unattainable/unachievable unless you invest a lot of gems into it.

Reality is that players could spend their gems on other more conducive items.

For example....in my own personal opinion....for players in Egypt, Scandinavia, China & at the beginning of Atlantis....on the proviso that they have reached game level 70....if the player purchased Diggys 4th Birthday for 500 gems.....they can acquire the camp equipment pieces of Birthday Panda for 2,000 gems which is regeneration of 235 per slot value....Birthday Beaver for 2,000 gems which is capacity of 1,750 per slot value.

And as this is purely a game of chance & gambling.... every player is going to have a vastly different result.

So really the only substantial & pertinent information that absolutely needs to be provided on Wiki is what are the percentages of chance given to....firstly on each item on the Ingredient Spinner.....secondly on the Ingredients & Chilli Sauce on the Cooking Grid.

The only other really relevant information to be provided on the Wiki pages is....the increasing costs of gems required to put Chilli Sauce back into the Sack (without any guarantees).....also how many gems it would cost to get all ingredients out as quickly as possible.

This is also cemented by the fact that numerous players have multiple accounts.....those players will have vastly different results on each account.

I have two accounts, one in Egypt, one in China. One has crapy results, the other, crapier results... 😜

I didn't spend one gem on that event, but as you pointed out, I would use 500 gems to buy an event that I enjoy playing rather than risk them on a chance game. I think Pixel's marketing team tried to appeal to players who enjoy such games, but failed to realize that their customers chose Diggy exactly because it isn't a game of luck. They must return to the drawing board, as we say in French.

Happy-Haze If they would remove the chilis after paying for, you could go to 25 by paying up to three times.
If they wouldn´t raise the price, it would be cheaper to pay for the chili as to pay for a new attempt of cooking.

They should have given equipment for 8500, 34k, 64k and 90k pots, so everyone could get something.
Then there would have been a higher incentive to spend gems overall.

Once again, like my last post above, 2 chillis in the 1st 3 moves and i have 24 ingredients now.

Didn't get the next screenshot, but got a chilli the next turn, 3 chillis in the 1st 4 moves, just go F yourself Chilli Out
So where the F is the statistics with this eh?

Updated. 5 more to go and for once will wake up tonight for a quick 10 minutes.
1st equipment rewarded. 780 gems spent. 2nd likely, 3rd for bit more gems, 4th for 1200 gem total spent
in itself 300 gems per equipment not bad, could have been better if I had know this was a 6 day event and not 7 from the start

Happy-Haze yes that is my total spent so far, (i did edit the number, made mistake) I just restarted cooking for the first time ever. I had a big fail. Might have been smarter to wait until after last free attempt on Monday......

Roeland 30 gems for a chance at improving my cooking score so that I might get to 5000 or 8500, to get:

Versus spend 35 gems on a caravan ticket that will bring a mega load of energy just when I need it to get my 3rd shield and buy a comparable piece of equipment.

Caravan ticket is the better option for me. This cooking game is an epic fail. The equipment isn't worth the gems it appears to be costing you guys. It is an improvement of literally 5 to 20 capacity which is a pathetic increase when it only applies in one camp. None of the equipment improves both camps, so it is not worth the risk or the cost - even if I had the gems. Buying gems? Not going to do that in order to chase after subpar equipment.

This is a factor I keep harping about - I spent money on this game and I got "thanked" with lousy equipment. I'm not competing with other players. None of us is competing with the rest. So what value is being served by acting as though we were in competition with each other? I do not approve of levelling playing fields, but it's particularly stupid when these are the results.

I'll take the rewards I got based on a no-gems and no-money spent approach.

@Diggy.Jones#393789 only gems used stats in your post dont seem correct. Probably all in first day is best achievable. 2500 pots average is achievable without many saves 30 gems.
Could decide to try it a bit cheaper, but that also has more risk on it turning into a more expensive thing.
WIth a 7th day I would have gotten all 4 equip for under 1000

Roeland I´m not sure which post you mean. You seem to be luckier than i am.
I cannot reach 2,5k without spending gems. Most of the time i get my 3rd chili on draw 18 (sometimes earlier) never later.
I will have 30 free attempts until Monday so i need an average of 3k. On draw 19 i´m under 3k, so i need draw 20.
For reaching 20 i needed between 30 and 300 gems so far, most of the time 90-180.
When i stop at 18 i get around 1k, at 20 i get over 4k.
Is it better to go for 20 or to pay for three additional attempts? Most of the time it´s cheaper to pay.
If i would have payed for the ingredients at the very start, i could have played differently and saved a lot of gems.
I could have saved gems by going for less than four items also, but those items would have had a higher prize per item.
