Pillars are considered "Large" decorations. There is a limit of 10 "Large" decorations at a time on a players camp.

Players must sell or store their pillars or other "Large" decorations if they reach this limit in order to buy more. Make sure your decoration lock is off.

I have only ever played on my Android phone.... still haven't tried playing through the portal....I will get there one day no doubt....maybe when they make a fairytale theme like the stunningly beautiful & aesthetically pleasing Wonderland Forest 🤣😂

Hats off to the Pixel guys - the Terra quests and puzzles get better all the time. After playing for 5 years (or so) Diggy is never boring and the creative imagination (not to mention the programming expertise) that goes into our weekly update is constantly improving. I know people complain about how heavy on energy some of the tiles are - but you have to expect things to get difficult (and very difficult!!) as you reach higher levels - that's all part of the challenge in every game. Keep it up Pix - champion game.

Fortunately I'm recently in China and it's ok for my style of play. I have not hurry to go further. Difficult doesn't have to mean frustrating. Especially if from what I have read, equipment isn't enough for the energy request.

Yes, thank you. I did that a long time ago for my region (Egypt) and then saw the Scandinavian ones when I reached it. I didn’t even think about the possibility of more green ring mines in higher regions. Makes it more inviting to know that.

I was so used to staying where I was, I haven’t developed a habit to wiki me up in advance for the next steps.

My big thing is I can only do the repeatables once a day due to my sleep and work schedule so that might be the only way I can get that good regen equipment. I rarely do repeatables unless there is an event that requires it due to the fact that I have to use my slow side twice a day as I work fast food. So I go through my energy quickly in the morning before work (I do not have a ton of playtime before work so I usually just do a high energy location) and then I use it again after work before I switch to the fast side in between real life. I really need to just get out of Atlantis so I can get the great Greece equipment as I have over 16 million coins and I have a bunch of stuff set up for pillars to get through the beginning of Greece quickly. I am level 351 almost 352 right now but that is because I know how to use my energy and plan out to complete events and stuff. It is still difficult at times though but I complete all events with 2 to 3 days to spare.

I use this remark a bit out of context, beg your pardon for that.

I complete all events within 2-3 days max. Mostly 1-2, the cheap ones half a day or one day. One exception was xmas 2016 that took me into its last week and some pillar levelling up.

My point is: This is a good measure of game quality for me, it shows everything is easy and going as fast as I whish.

So the idea of moving up regions because there is better camp equipment there seems to be less convincing for me when I need longer for the stories nevertheless. We know by now that the tile cost/equipment relation gets worse.

Again a structural deficit that works contrary to the purpose of the game to move forward. Maybe if you’re interested in Diggy's voyage, but if it’s for the playing experience you can have that in early regions perfectly.

That's absolutely ok for me, I like it. I just find it a strange thing in a game like this. Moving forward should be the logic step and the structure of the game should motivate you strongly to do so.

MadameCurie I used to finish events in a day or two while I was in Scandinavia, too. Now that I'm in China it takes me longer, at least 4 to 5 days, sometimes up to a week, depending on the size of the event, but I don't mind. And I still finish the story fast, it just takes longer for the challenges, because they're the costly ones.
But, despite the bigger tile cost, you should take into account that not only you get better equipment, but your quests & clear out bonuses are bigger, too, so you'll level up faster. And the recipes in the kitchen are better, too. There are pretty good awards later on: for level 200 you get +300 reg, for level 250 is +350, for level 300 is +400. I know it seems far away to you now, but the postcard events with their 10x exp bonus are great for leveling up. I always level up at least once during these weeks. I'm level 275 at the moment, so now I'm working toward the level 300 prize.
Also, I should mention that I haven't spent any real money, there's enough gems as awards. I've spent so much of them on equipment, weekly boxes & stories.
Anyway, when I started playing I didn't know anything about strategy, I just kept playing, once I realised I need to clear out my camp, that was my #1 goal until I did that, and I think went through Egypt unintentionally fast. I started playing in Sep/Oct 2019, and by the time the Xmas 2019 event came, I was already in Scandinavia. As for Scandinavia, I wasn't in a hurry, only toward the end of the region I decided it's time to get out of it, so I applied myself to clearing out the region & finishing the quests so I can progress to China. Then I applied myself to clearing out the China quests needed for the China mines to open. Now, I'm not in a hurry, I just play relaxed in China in between events, and I absolutely love playing in this region. I don't like to rush & I like clearing out everything, because I found it annoying going back in Scandinavia to clear out the locations.
Anyway, there's both pros & cons whether to progress into a new region. You probably won't be able to play as long in them because of the tile cost, but that's why I save up my food, for when I feel like playing more. And as others have said, investing in clearing out the camp, the equipment & the switch system are pretty good tools.

I am referring to the complete event, including the challenge locations. I usually complete the story part in 4 or 5 days maybe longer depending on how much time I have to play. Also I am in Atlantis so the energy requirements are much larger. The idea of getting to Greece is because I cannot really better my camp much at all right now. Almost all events are either at or just barely above what I have now for capacity and regen and I can by nothing with coins from the ship as everything is lower than what I have right now. That is a good indication that you are ready for the next region. Lately I have been just using the events to get food for energy as the camp equipment is horrible. The jump from Egypt to Scandinavia is pretty small compared to the jump from Scandinavia to China. China takes about a year or so to complete with all the events and then the China to Atlantis jump is fairly easy as long as you have coins saved up. Atlantis takes about 18 months or so depending on events and the amount of time you have to play. I have been there for 20 months but I had a lot of real life work issues most of last year and the beginning of this year (not Covid related) that made it so I had to leave my energy full and sitting for 8 to 10 hours at a time sometimes. If not for that I might be out of Atlantis already. Also not to mention the 5 million experience I have lost due to game glitches with ads.

I have never spent real money either as there is really no need to. Yep clearing out your camp is a big priority along with the switch system. I used gems to help clear out my camp and it was the best decision ever as it got it all the way done fast. I only used gems to clear during the 20% off clearing events though but I had to factor in the amount of time I had to play so getting my camp cleared was a priority. Clearing out every location is what I am doing too as not only is it a pain to go back to other regions but also in China and Atlantis the high energy areas help prepare you for the next region. Having done them in China for the dragon scales, it made the locks of hair in Atlantis so much easier because I had learned how to manage the energy to get them. The equipment you get from them is great too. I still have my metal dragon one from China in my camp. As far as playing the same amount of time in the next region, it depends on how many coins you have saved up to buy equipment when you open the next region. I did not notice a huge difference China to Atlantis as I had coins saved up to buy a decent amount of new and better equipment right away. Only big change was that events took a bit longer as they are higher energy than the beginning stages of a new region but I also noticed that when I went from Scandinavia to China so I knew what I was in for China to Atlantis. I also know it will happen Atlantis to Greece but I have a ton of coins and materials for pillars saved up.

@Tigger1987 Yeah, coins are needed when you get in a new region, that's what I learned when I got to China. I was actually shocked when I ran out of them, because I wasn't paying attention and I had so many, so I didn't think it through, even bought some equipment that I stopped using quite fast, so yeah, next time I'll go about it differently. And even though I'm only in China, even I end up buying food sometimes with event items because the equipment is of no use to me. I'm there maybe around 6 months, and I'm about halfway through, and yeah, the dragon scale equipment is pretty awesome, and those side stories with the animal styles are hilarious.
And after a while in new region you get used to the tile cost, so it's fine, though they should at least add better equipment in events, especially for the capacity, and maybe add segmented event recipes that give you more energy.

Yeah, that's pretty much when I decided I should clear out Scandinavia and go to China.
And yeah, it sucks when you lose the add exp, but it's pretty awesome when it works, especially now that's available for the achievements, that just might be one of their best updates.

Anyway, Diggy's Adventure is just so much fun!!!

I personally never used any gems to clear out any of my camp slots.

I consider gems to be a valuable asset & commodity....which I use for things like camp equipment, older/vintage shop stories, passive effects & professor switch system.

Instead I stockpiled coins, lumber, stone, iron ore, coal, copper & tin from new events/stories, re-released stories, older/vintage shop stories, repeatable mines & double materials weeks.

I used double production weeks to stockpile iron & bronze from my foundry.

Then I used grid unlock discount weeks to clear my camp slots.

But everyone has there own game strategies, theories & agendas 😁👍

I factored in my playtime when I made that decision to use gems. I was really struggling to finish events and could not even buy much equipment from them because I was having to use the items for energy to even finish the event. Once I got my camp cleared out events were easier. Also when I was clearing my camp buying the effects for gems was not available yet. That came when I was already in Atlantis. I saved up gems once those came out though and prioritized them so those are both maxed now.
