Is the Red Ring event worthwhile?

So i'm pretty close to the end of China (on final metal dragon) so I was wondering what the consensus was here. Should I:
a) Spend all my energy on red rings
b) Spend part of my energy just on the first few super cheap red ring mines and partially do the event
c) Skip the event and plow through China to get better equipment in Atlantis & weekly events in the future

pixel_player70196548 Personally, I would choose b. Get whatever the week offers you cheaply. You can progress on main quests in the meanwhile and if you make it to atlantis this week itself, spend the rings on the reward hall of atlantis.

We just do the 6 lowest mines once or twice a day, which is about 50k energy.

Keep the rings for next time when you are in the next region if you don't need anything out of the reward mine.

pixel_player70196548 as you are at the end of China, you should have a good amount of energy to make doing part of the event worthwhile and easy. Deciding what to use rings on -- I haven't considered saving them for way later. But this round I find I am not doing the first red ring reward mine as I can get or make those items. My focus is on adamantine ore & steel, volcanic ore, dragon ingots and ancient scrap metal. I'm also doing all ten mines available to me, to get more diamonds, sapphires and topazes in addition to the rings. The energy cost for the jewels is the same, but the other tiles around and with them are fewer so it is cheaper than coming across them in quests where I often have to spend hundreds of thousands of energy points in addition to jewel costs.

For completeness, I'm level 208, and my regen/capacity stats are below for considering if i'm even ready for Atlantis yet or not.

Thanks for the replies. I will do the first 5 mines on resets and save the rings for the future.

AllMenAreIslands last time I checked, the regular repeatables for topaz and sapphire were a lot cheaper than the red ring ones.

No they are not.
Red ring mines far cheaper.

red ring sapphire mine: 81,000 energy for one sapphire and a ring.
red ring topaz mine: 72,060 for one topaz, one ring and a bit of egypt stuff.
sapphire sanctuary: 125,800 for two sapphires and some greece stuff. that's 62,900 per sapphire.
topaz treasury: 108,045 for two topaz, a gem and some atlantis stuff. 54,022.5 per topaz.

red rings are NOT always cheaper.

Yep, you're right.
I didn't notice and forgot the 2x jewels you get in them. 😑
I remembered red rings were not cheaper but didn't notice why so i thought i remembered it wrongly and was thinking of something else.

Chani but if you use that ring to get a 2nd sapphire, then you are getting 2 sapphires for 40,500 each.

AllMenAreIslands hmm. but only every third ring, at best, can be spent on a sapphire, so would it count as a third of a sapphire?
...which would put its value at almost 21k, and 81-21=60, slightly cheaper than the regular repeatable, so maybe the sapphire mine isn't so bad?

Chani On top of that, you get something useful with the other 2 rings, which makes the special mine better than the regular one. Not that you should spend all energy on this, but if you want the jewels, the red ring mines are better to get them when around.
