Sorry for my delay in getting back to you.
In addition to what Abhi said above.
Firstly I will point out that I play via the Android game app....I don't have Facebook....I play on a Google Pixel 5 phone....I always keep my phone operating system & my Diggys Adventure game app up-to-date.
This is not a guaranteed fix or workaround....yes it can be tedious & annoying....but once you get into the habit of doing it....you just do it autonomously without even thinking.
There will still be times that you don't get double rewards....but this system seems to lessen the number of failed rewards.
In relation to the double rewards not working.....one of the tricks I do is that just before finishing a mission or completing a game scene or claiming an achievement, I close down the game & then restart it.....when I say "close down" I mean completely close down...not just swiping it into the background where it is technically still running & draining resources.
For completing the game scene...this means I leave approximately 1-10 tiles unbroken....then I will completely close down my game.......I wait at least 1 minute before reopening my game again....then I go back into the game scene I want to clear & finish breaking the last tiles....then the cleared game scene reward will pop-up will appear & then I proceed to play the ad.
Before finishing a quest...I do the same sort of thing I will do all the tasks required & before I go speak to the character or putting a particular item into a certain spot or whatever else is required to finish the quest....I go through the same close down process & steps as described above...NOTE: sometimes this can be a little bit trickier to gauge when the completed quest reward will pop-up.... depending on what is the trigger that will result in the final step of the quest.
As for Achievements...they are actually the easiest to deal with....because you can see the notification bubble above the Museum....you can actually open the Achievement pop-up & see if the double rewards button is actually there if you want to first...or you can just go through the close down steps above before you even go look at the Achievement pop-up if you choose to.
Myself & other players have also found that if you've been playing for about an hour it's best if you also fully shut down the game, wait at least 1 minute & then reopen the game to have less of a problem with double rewards.
I've also noticed that if I have multiple apps open or am on a phone call, the double rewards ads don't work most of the time either....so I have to close down all my apps & not be on a phone call....again when I say "close down" I mean to completely close down...not just swiped away so that they are still running in the background.
I also very regularly (daily) clear my cache, cookies, history, etc....I find that this also seems to help.
I also turn my device & internet source completely off fairly regularly too.
I found that I don't seem to have so many issues with double rewards failing so much when I do these things.
You could also try some other basic fault finding techniques such as:
Ensuring that you are running the most up-to-date versions of game app, Facebook, Google Play, browser, phone/device/PC operating systems, etc (depending on what you play through).
You can also try uninstalling & reinstalling game app, Facebook, Google Play, browser, etc (but only do this if you have game progress and player ID registered with your email address or facebook account).
First & foremost ... write down your player ID number before doing anything ... it can be found in your game settings area.
Another thing is to free up any space on your phone/device/PC by deleting any unused & unnecessary apps, downloads, screenshots, files, songs, games, photos, videos, etc.
You can also try the other things like:
- Log out & log in to the game app/browser/Facebook/portal/Google Play.
- Turn the phone/device/PC off & on.
- Turn the internet connection/source off & on.
- Try using a different internet source (WiFi or mobile data).
- Try using a different browser.
- Try using a different phone/device/PC.
Another option is to try playing through the portal website/Facebook/Google Play instead of the mobile game app or vice versa.
In relation to the number of event "Special Items"....I have to be honest....it's a bit of a sore point as far as I'm concerned.
I maintain that there should be at least enough event "Special Items" available throughout the story to at least gain at least 1 piece each of the best pieces of both regeneration & capacity camp equipment.
I personally think that event "Special Items" should also be available in repeatable mines.... like they used to be in the Older Unsegmented Stories.
In relation to the event "Special Event Passes" I usually buy the "Premium Row".....which unfortunately never have any event "Special Items" in them....however they do usually have 2 pieces of capacity & 1 piece of regeneration camp equipment that are of higher value than is what offered to buy from the Shop....."Special Event Passes" are only available on newly released events & the are not necessarily offered on every newly released event.
So when it comes to the "Special Packs".....there are 2 different kinds of them:
- There are the "Event Special Packs"
- There are the "Region/God Special Packs"
In relation to the "Event/Region/God Special Packs"....I have only ever bought a few of them in the very beginning.... apparently there are different versions with different pricing points of these "Event/Region/God Special Packs"....however there isn't any publicly available information in relation to what the different "Event/Region/God Special Packs" contain or cost....if you are on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram apparently other players will post what "Event/Region/God Special Pack" that they have been offered from Pixel.
You are supposed to be able to write to Pixel support & ask them for a cheaper or dearer "Event/Region/God Special Pack".....however from my own personal experience I did ask Pixel support once in the beginning about changing the "Event/Region/God Special Pack" I had been offered....but their reply (from Andy) was that "unfortunately adjusting the price levels of the event pack isn't possible for players."
There used to be all the details of the different "Event/Region/God Special Packs" on the Wiki pages here.... however these pages have not been maintained nor updated since around 2016.....which I find extremely disappointing to honest....I would really like to see these pages to be currently active & up-to-date again.

In relation to the free gifts of event "Special Items"...they are usually only available on newly released events....but I can remember that there has been times when they haven't been available.
In relation to the seasonal/yearly events....I have only just recently started to keep my event "Special Items" in my inventory until the following year so I can spend them when I'm in a higher region....I'm totally kicking myself that I didn't work out to do this sooner (these are like the secret squirrel hacks that you wish Wiki/someone had told you in the very beginning).
But this theory really is only guaranteed to work on seasonal/yearly events such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween, Diggys Birthday....although yes other non seasonal/yearly events will be generally re-released for free & potentially end up being available in the shop....there is no guaranteed or specific time frame for this to occur....so you could be left waiting for awhile.
When you purchase an Older Unsegmented or Segmented Story from the shop you do generally receive "Event Special Pack" offers for them as well....if you open multiple Older Stories at one time you may not get "Event Special Pack" offers for all of the Older Stories.....also I have noticed that sometimes the Older Stories "Event Special Packs" offers will expire faster than 7 days if a new event starts up during that time frame.
I have recently purchased several Older Stories & I have had 2 event "Event Special Packs" offered to me so far...see pictures attached.
There used to be a thing called "Special Offer Equipment' (see old Wiki page below)....which has been replaced by the "Tiered Offers".....@Abhi has done a fantastic job at creating, providing, maintaining & updating a complete list of the different "Tiered Offers" available for each region (see Diggys Guide page below)

Actually that reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask you Abhi.....seeing that the Wiki page is not being maintained & updated in relation to the "Event/Region/God Special Packs"....could you please create the same type of reference information for the "Event/Region/God Special Packs" too.....as you did such as fantabulous job on the "Tiered Offers"?
