Decorations in the camp

I have played the game on my cell most of time, quite refreshing to play on the p.c
See the diffrence such as' friends,windmill etc.. and the best part is that the game on p.c and the cell r connected so I enjoy both of the world
My Q is - what's the use\benefit of the decorations in the camp? isn't taking space for much more requierd and usful items?

Most of us i think probably don't have decorations sitting in the camp.
Buying the decorations and placing them in camp gives experience, then we sell them or store them.

Then later in the game when you have enough resources you can buy pillars giving you lots of experience which helps you to level and then use the energy reward to keep digging.

Other than that there is no useful items that just sit in the camp.
