As the linked post states, the red dudes are characters that didn't load properly. A lot of the time, that's harmless. My entire Camp was comprised of them last night.
However, I had to close / reopen + clear the cache of the mobile app to get the game to register I'd moved the superhero red mummies to their blue markers in order to move on. Then the director disappeared, but talked to me anyway😱
These red dudes have been rather prevalent throughout the game & Pixel is working on fixes.
