Chani The Red Ring rewards are supposed to have started today. But I cannot locate the map anywhere. Can you help? I have refreshed my screen several times, nothing appears. I have played before.

Abhi I agree that amethysts are just so common in the game that it's better to get gems instead of yet another amethyst. The only real reason why higher regions would do the first rewards mine is because they are short of wood and/or stone, otherwise they would skip it entirely.

samdiggy keep in mind there's going to be a chance to spend a lot of amethysts (and other jewels) at xmas. take a look at the xmas 2019 equipment, assume there's going to be three items at approximately that cost, and see whether getting a few extra now would be useful. 🙂

samdiggy for me at the moment I have 345 amethysts, and 350 buy a nice pillar. Last year I had left off with that Red Rewards 2/3 done. Diggy was standing outside the 8hr potion, but I ran and got an amethyst instead.

if you need green gems, you could always do Tutankhamen Treasure. At late game stages it gives a 3-fer: gems, low cost tiles and lots of digging 😀

We are not too fused about this event.
So we only do 7 mines adding to around 89k to get 7 rings twice a day.
The topaz and higher mines we pass on as it just isn't worth it.
I will be using 4 rings at a time in the rewards mine then reset it.

For tier one for Greece i would opt for octopus, everything else in that tier you will have or get enough of.

gamemaster yeah, the calculator says octopus and ada. steel are best, so I'd only take lemons if I thought I might run out before NW (which I think I'm gonna reach around xmas, and I still have plenty of all the greece food).

for ring repeatables, I've decided to do the first six plus diamond.
topaz and sapphire cost 20k more than the equivalent from the regular repeatables - is a ring worth 20k? and the other two mines are just ring+xp for 37k and 55k, which sounds like a terrible deal to me.

I guess you could get an approximation of the pillar worth of a ring by averaging the rewards chosen... but how much energy is a pillar worth?

AllMenAreIslands Back during summer builder I went to buy an amethyst pillar, may not have been such a good idea after all, just realised how many amethysts I would need in total for this year's Xmas and the rerelease of last year's Xmas.

Chani for me pillars that cause level-up bring nearly 600,000 energy. It depends what level you are, how much energy you get.

I agree that octopus is good, also adamantine steel. Lemons are plentiful at times, so much so that I have bought pillars of them.

What we need is a chart that brings together the repeatable mine cost, number of items gotten in that mine vs. the number of items given for a red ring. Then it depends on personal situation and game-play preferences.

I have left so many of those jewels in all the mines from Atlantis till now that if i wanted those jewels i would just go in those and get some at no to little cost compared to those repeatable mines.

I said octopus as i know i ran out of those a few times, as for lemons they ( for me ) are plentiful as suggested above.
I have made 2 pillars of lemons and still have 13k of them now.
Weird that only the Greece reward has any food in it to use.

So in my rounds of New World Rewards i just went with Adamantine Ore, Electrum, Amazonium and Diamond.
I might use a 5th to get silver as well.
They are all for pillars.

Chani I just took another look at the Topaz Treasury repeatable mine. Mine currently has two topazes @ 22,000 each. But the mine also offers several each of lobster and seaweed tiles, plus some green gems, some orichalcum and quite a few marble tiles. So I get your point: for one red ring plus the topaz, the red ring route looks like it is perhaps not as worthwhile as the repeatable mine. My topaz red ring is refreshing atm, but I think it does offer extras like tin and coal in the chests.

I will compare more closely this next go. It could be that the sapphire red ring is the one that just costs a lot to get the ring, with no extras.

gamemaster huh, I just noticed that in the calculator, at level 350, the greece rewards give more pillar xp than the NW rewards. it's the ada steel in tier 2, it has a ridiculously good pillar value. might be worth considering if you can go without the diamonds.

I knew it was good, that just showed it how good to me.
So i will now be doing only the Greece reward and getting octopus, Adamantine ore and steel and the sapphire ( which is nearly as good as diamond in exp ) 👍️

My calculations for making 18 adamantine steel in terms of energy are:
Each steel is made of 6 ore @ 1800 apiece and 3 orichalcum @ 7948 apiece
= 10800+23844 x 18 = 439,992. That sure is worth a red ring!

But it is worth noting that you need 15 x 1550 of the volcanic ore for each piece of steel, and only 6 x 1800 of the adamantine ore. So it might be better to consider getting volcanic ore, is my point.

edited to add: it seems that 18 adamantine steel are delivered every other turn, alternating with only 9. It's still worth doing!

so, it looks like the adamantine steel got nerfed. I only got 16 pieces instead of like... 18-24 yesterday?
not sure how that'll affect people's calculations, but apparently the wiki has the updated numbers?

as for what it's worth... @AllMenAreIslands did the calculations for if you'd be digging it out somewhere else, but if you don't need any more and are just using it for pillars it might be more useful to look at how much pillar xp it'll get you, how much of a level-up that is, and how much energy's in that level up...

so, at level 350, looking at just the adamantine from yesterday (although only 1/3 or 1/4 of rings will get that)... that averages around a million xp, which is about 1/12th of a level, and my last level got me 400k-ish of energy, so... 400/12=33.3k of energy. huh. that's not bad. but as of today it's actually some amount lower [edit: multiply by 0.6, so, 20k] and the rings spent on octopus get about 1/5 of that xp, making them worth only 6.6k energy.

I'm at level 409. The Xp needed to level up to 410 is 19,258,000, and I'm at 14,752,762. I'm in "striking" distance, as in, I could use iron & bronze to do it if I really wanted.

I reached 1000 adamantine steel during this Red Ring event, and also completed my adamantine ore achievement -- all thanks to following @gamemaster375117 idea to do only the Greece Reward.

Was going to use the level up right away, but no, I'll save it. Just keep using Sea Soup to help me do as many red ring rooms as I can.

Considering we should get a real event this week, i would keep it to level after the event starts for the boost to get through it.
That's what i'm doing and i am getting close, less than 5 million for next level.
I'm dodging experience boxes as much as i can in the locations i'm doing until the next update so i don't level before then.

Goodness. I'm a lazy player. I just do every mine regardless. I don't calculate a darned thing. Perhaps my OCD kicks in high gear & I simply CANNOT leave any tile unturned during sny Event.

Always fun to read the strategies tho🙃

REWARDS:
China Diggy doesn't really need the materials, he picks Food, Experience, Speed Potuin, Rubies, & Gems.

Scandi: Food, alternate between Exp., Bronze, Iron. Speed Potion, Amethysts & Gems.

Egypt: Stone, Bronze or Iron, Speed Potion, Gems & Amethyst.

I'm glad I'm not the only lazy player. You'd never find me doing MATH for this.

Atlantis: I usually clear just 4 repeatables. Trying to leave enough energy do an Atlantis quest later in the day.

Egypt: I do all 4 repeatables but I only spend 3 at a time. All I care about is STONE, STONE, STONE. I'm hoping that by the end of RRW that I can clear that LAST slot in the Camp Underground!
