Hi Diggy creators,
I have an offer for you. Your translators or writers have a good English vocabulary and basic grammar, but much of what is used in the game is colloquial, and their idioms are rusty. The text can be awkward or difficult to understand. I can also help with American and British culture. You are terrific (and wonderfully irreverent! The Titanic 😂😂 and semi automatics in schools!😂😂) with modern culture, but many of your stories hark back to older literature, for instance, where the text (and even graphics) could be improved. For instance the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland said very famously “I’m late! I’m late! For a very important date!’ I assume the story is old enough for that not to be copyrighted. Also, rabbit holes are in the ground (at the base of the tree means the ground around it), not in trees like squirrels. Just examples!
I am an American with three degrees in Linguistics and 35 years experience teaching English, EFL, English composition, and English grammar; and editing and proofreading, including translated texts as well as translating from German and French to English for an international film company.
I would like to offer my services for free (or for gems!). I would love to proofread and correct game texts as you write stories. I would really love to correct older stories, but I am sure that is too much work for you! Sometimes I might need to see context/images to know what would be correct; I can ask you for more details at the time.
One important reason Diggy’s Adventures is such a great game is that it is an example of fair capitalism. Not cutthroat American capitalism where they trick players into spending money and getting little out of it. For instance, making Diggy go slowly and needing to purchase speed potions is Capitalist. Giving us enough for free that we don’t absolutely need to purchase them is fair! Most game creators are Chinese, Japanese, or American. It is obvious Diggy devs were European! And your wonderful (and too irreverent for an American!) sense of humor indicates that as well.
So I was thrilled to find out you are Slovakian! Congratulations on your excellent game. I LOVE your sense of humor.
I see that you have other popular games as well. If you like my work we may talk about my working on those too, depending on how much work there is, possibly for remuneration. But probably for Diggy gems! Of course if they are different devs they can’t be nearly as good 🙂❤️
Thanks and keep on digging!
