pixel_player35529808 I did feel that way this time too. But then I thought about it: I just got to Greece literally the day before 8th birthday was unveiled. So the tile cost was a bit of sticker shock.
But for a long time now I have been whipping through the special events with weeks to spare. This is the first time in a long time that I am going to need close to the full event to complete every challenge. By complete I mean clear completely, not just get all the goodies. I am able to clear even 50,000 diamond tiles with a half load from the overnight regen. I can zap a 33,000 sapphire with 80 minutes regen time. So I don't have to rely on level ups to have the energy to get the work done.
Look at your set up for night and day. Could you make your day set up take an extra 15 minutes but give enough to get big tiles? During that wait time, there must be other personal or household chores you could get done.
Are you constantly making food, and using it? There are ways to make the game fun, and part of it comes from evaluating & adjusting your attitude to the new challenges and difficulties.
