The Wiki Events page has a table toward the bottom that identifies the highest regen item and highest capacity item from each event. Note: It isn't updated to reflect that certain events that are only 100 gems right now. The table just above it shows which events are 100 gems.

You have to be careful when reviewing the table. Use the link for the event (in column 1) to double check the listed item to make sure it doesn't require a lot of gems. For example, for Xmas 2016, there is a high regen "gem ornament." The corresponding Wiki page for that event shows that you need 2000 gems (!!!!) to buy it. At least that one had the word gem in it, so you know to check that one.

But here's another example. Diggy's 4th Birthday has a "Birthday Panda" regen item. You also need 2000 gems to buy that one. If you have extra amethysts, rubies, and topaz (and the required level), 4th Birthday might have equipment that you might want.

Also look at the "per slot" value....not the overall value.

I'm a fairly newbie player to Diggys Adventure as well.

I'm currently trying to bulk up & build up my camp.

I also have done Christmas 2013, 2014, 2015 to get vouchers....I haven't quite finished Christmas 2015 challenge mines yet got 9 days left & it's a bit of a struggle with Easter 2020 (still got all of challenge 3 & a bit of challenge 2 to go) & Spring Postcards & I haven't touched Easter 2015 that expires in 10 days too...lol.

In Christmas 2015:

Gem Christmas Wreath gives 185 per slot regeneration but it costs 2,000 gems.
Reindeer Ornament gives 155 per slot regeneration which costs 110,000 coins & 40 vouchers.
Christmas Aquarium gives 135 per slot regeneration but it costs 425 gems.
Penguin In A Stocking gives 130 per slot regeneration which costs 90,000 coins & 160 bells.
Christmas Parrot gives 125 per slot regeneration but costs 250 gems.
Christmas Bird gives 115 per slot regeneration which costs 75,000 coins & 20 vouchers.

I personally went for 2 Reindeer Ornaments & so far I've got 1 Penguin In A Stocking....not sure if I can get enough bells to get a 2nd one.

But everyone has their own strategy on how is best to play the game.

TheHutchCom I am a level 50 Egypt new player with still low energy and capacity. Is it worth it at this point to do the vintage events?

pixel_player79257683 I think so? look at the events' wiki pages, see if the equipment is useful to you, and also consider the lumber, stone etc. that'll help you clear slots.
plus some events give a net profit of gems...

pixel_player79257683 as Chani says, there are still quite a few 100 gem events, many of which supply more than 100 gems when you do it for the first time. Take a look at the Wiki, where there is a table that provides the info on which ones do that. To find out exactly what is involved at each event, you need to find the event itself to see what repeatables there are, what you can buy with the special item, what the values are for the regen and capacity items, as well as the full breakdown of materials, gems and so forth.

That was how I decided which events were worthwhile -some are not worth doing even at 100 gems, in my view.

Just remember to check out the required game level to access the camp equipment in each Older Story.

The camp equipment that is available in the Older Unsegmented Stories is much stronger than what is offered in both Egypt & Scandinavia regions & new events being released.

Happy-Haze good to know. I am thinking of getting a second Diggy, to bring to bear all my knowledge of what to do. See if I can get a better camp organization and make better choices lol,

My experience is that there are stones that correspond to the level, but at this level you no longer need wood, stone and coal, but you have to incorporate what is on the NW level.

TheHutchCom the best event by far to redo is the Excalibur event, the items you can buy in the event are far superior to everything else available

I have been playing this game for not quite a year now, and all I really do is the 100 gem events

When I started I spent on a small pack, and regret it now, b/c Excalibur event has better equipment then what you can buy as well

As you can see in the picture I have only finished 2nd head in Egypt, but I have 63,583 energy b/c of doing the 100 gem events, mainly Excalibur

I LOVE the 100 gem Older Stories so much that I have created spreadsheets in relation to their camp equipment & kitchen recipes......there is a link to these spreadsheets a few posts above
