In-game friends are definitely broken. I can send (and probably receive) gifts only from two people that stopped playing long before the game moved away from facebook. And Mr. Bill. With the help of the "add me" thread on the forum, I tried to change the situation for a chance to be ever eligible for the "Presentee" achievements, but to no avail. People befriended on Facebook, on the Pixel portal or both do not show up on the in-game friends list. Not even after refreshing it using the "Synchronize friends" link on the in-game friends list. Is there any chance this issue will be fixed in the near future (or ever)?

Thank you. It was a partial solution to my issue. I now see the guy I made friends with because of Diggy's Adventure more than a month ago. But I still don't see the guy from a week ago... maybe the error is on his side now?
tomlak it's possible his settings aren't correct.
Try signing out / in again & then click the sync friends button to see if that makes a difference.
Otherwise, if you know the person or are comfortable messaging him to see if he has trouble seeing his friend list. If he does, feel free to share the link🙂
I did see his posts about "why don't I see my wife on friends list". I will try forwarding this tip to him, maybe it will help him too.
Well... I got another friendship confirmed based on the "add me" thread, and he also did not appear as an in-game friend after pressing the "refresh friends list" button. But he also appeared after removing and re-adding the game on FB. I guess that's a bug then. It's what I'd expect the refresh friends button would do. I can't see any effect other than reloading the page like this.
tomlak I think Facebook has made changes that messes with the game. I truly wish Pixel would get rid of the FB-only friends list as it really doesn't work well at all. Have you tried playing through the Portal as opposed to Facebook? Once I reinstalled the game on Facebook, to get the friends settings correct, I've never had a problem syncing any additional friends in the Porral.
I am playing through the Portal. Still, it looks like I will never see the portal only friends as in-game friends. (That's a real pity.) And obviously no FB friends either unless I keep adding-removing the game on Facebook. Even though... next time I will have somebody to experiment on, I will try just opening the game on FB, not re-adding it. That is something I don't do and could possibly help too.

Once reinstalled on Facebook, open the game & click the dunce friends button. Then close out of the Facebook game & open the portal.
This worked for me & I simply either refresh the portal game or sync friends any time new ones get added. Hope this works for you as well🙂
Just remove the game on FB and add it again. That worked for me. But you have to keep doing that every time you want to refresh your friends list, which is sort of annoying.
tomlak Never had to keep doing that. Once I removed the Diggy app from Facebook & reinstalled it, I only use the Sync Friends button when new friends are added.
