valentine 2020 challenges

I have a question...
I know that the event challenges are suppose to be difficult but it seems that these challenges are extreme. I just got to Atlantis (just completed the first location). I completed the 2020 valentine main event & the first challenge and I am half way through the 2nd challenge, but it's taken me a 17 days to get this far. With least amount of tile value is 600 but at least half are 1,200 and 4,800 with a few 9,000 and 22,000 tiles every so often it takes a huge amount of time. Even though I have a 93,000 energy capacity, it only lasts for about 40 or 50 tiles before I run out of energy. With 923 and 1,708 tiles for the 2nd & 3rd challenges, I don't see how it's possible to complete all three challenges before the event ends.

My question is, is this the way it's going to be from now on and is this what I should expect in Atlantis?

I may have to rethink if this is still going to be fun...

I arrived in Atlantis a month ago, but really have only been doing events since then. The Valentine's 2020 Challenge locations are extremely energy consuming. On a level-up day I started on Challenge 3 on a whim, and I've spent 5 days on it so far. If it wasn't for the Love Watches, I'd have given up already. Today I thought, to heck with this, I'll go try Challenge 1.... only to find that it is just as bad. I didn't clear any of the main quest line... I know I can't clear these 3 Challenge locations. If it wasn't for the possible camp equipment I'd have bailed already, but now I'm not even sure that the V2020 camp equipment is worth the energy investment.

Kinda of worried about Atlantis V2019 as well. I haven't claimed that yet.

pixel_player24226547 I've been in Atlantis for a few events now and finished valentine 2020 about 5 days in but used a few pillars and about 1 million in food to do so. I think valentine 2019 is worse and am only about a third of the way through it and really trying to do it without touching my food or anything. Pretty sure I can get it done on time that way but it is hard and I guess higher levels are probably struggling as much if not more. I do like the story and puzzles of valentine 2020 even if it was hard. I don't think valentine 2019 has as good rewards though.

There is lots of new equipment that you will get, when you have the materials for them, to get your camp much stronger than what it is.

The camp equipment is far superior to 2019.
So much better we both could get something from the 2020 event but the 2019 event are just too low for us now.
Even too low for me and i have only been in New World for just over 5 weeks.
So we will use the story materials for decos and gain experience.

Both are practically the same in energy, the 2020 event needs around 200k energy more to fully clear than 2019.

I did the first 2019 location (by mistake, I thought it was v2020) and it was about the same as the v2020 location and thought: Oh, I guess it's only the beginning of the challenges that consume that much energy... before I realized I was in the wrong location. The v2019 challenges are still locked so I'm not sure about those... But when they say the challenges are difficult, I thought they meant the puzzles were more difficult. But you are right, the challenges are not so difficult just extremely energy consuming or very expensive (just keep buying more and more energy).

It appears that computer users have a huge advantage over mobil users... pillars. From what I can tell they can use stockpiles of unused materials to purchase food/energy. I was wondering why I still have huge piles of unneeded materials what I could do with them... nothing. Seems pretty unfair to me.

pixel_player24226547 Computer versions do have big advantages. Except Apple products, most devices are able to play diggy via the standard browser. You'd have to request the desktop version of the site rather than the mobile version.. Preferably via the Facebook version of the game to have neighbors and the benefits that gives.

pixel_player24226547 you can play on mobile 99% of the time and then log into the web version once a month or so to buy decorations and pillars. that's what I do 🙂

I've been in Atlantis for about 7 months, and I'm just finishing up valentine 2020 right now (after spending like.. half a day on the 2019 one so I'd have those challenge levels available). The xmas equipment helped a lot, I think; I barely touched the main atlantis quests in 2019, and still haven't finished with gaia, but I did get a little sidetracked digging rubies and amethysts out of china for xmas equipment. 🙂

Chani I don't have an iOS device, but I thought Safari had a way to enable webGL...but maybe I'm wrong.

Chani Not fully sure what iOS can and cant. I think in itself it can handle webgl2 but not 3.0 anyway it doesnt work for iphones as far as I know

I appreciate everyone's input and all the time to help out, but when I can only play on my ipad for 1-2 minutes with 93,000 in energy, it is not fun... It's irritating. I suppose, since not a whole lot of people feel the same way, I guess I have to resign myself to not play the challenges. The challenges were appealing until now. I will say, however, that if the game is the same on both a computer and mobil devices but computer players get a lot more resources, it's really not fair to mobile players.

pixel_player24226547 You can always cherry pick the challenges for stuff instead of not doing them and that way you still get something good from them at a lower cost in energy.
