Weird, since the last 2x i had around 350 rings and used 170 leaving around 170, i now have 398 rings.
I would get more green rings as with higher regions you have more of those mines to use rings on.
I will be using at least 170 rings again this round refreshing the mines with gems 7x between them.

gamemaster so the sea soup that uses eels is really that good a choice? I always go for shorter time cooks. Looking at the wiki there are several that look better in my eyes.

umbreon422 To cook overnight, you see the sea soup is the best option for greece.

Even during day time, the sea soup is equivalent to the 2 hour olive dish (forgot name) which gives 4000 energy.
The shorter ones of 30 min will give you slightly more than that but you need to check in every 30 minutes or so. Personally, I am never able to log in every 30 min.

But because they require their own food like octopuses which are rarer to obtain, I cook sea soup only during night and the shorter olive and lemon items during day. I don't find doing the octopus repeatable more frequently to cook sea soup during day worth it.

But I have never faced a shortage of eels during my entire greece.

As Abhi mentioned, i did sea soup 2x a day, sleep and work then the 30 min cooking when at home.
Simply put, i went from 23.9 million food to over 69 million stored in 6 months and i ate millions on the way getting the shields for equipment and for other things.
Now in the last month i have eaten well over 40 million in food and still have 34 million stored.
With that i progressed through over 5 gods in Greece and the complete father line to get to New World
Just now having finished the third god in New World.
Also got the 3 feathers from each for equipment and the 30 obsidians from each to make the keys.
I was getting low on eels and lobsters before i went to New World.

I completely forgot about stockpiling on bait, I'm currently sitting on zero bait 😊 (Not that I really liked doing repeatables with bait in the first place, I seem to get little back from digging so much)

Interesting to see so many people running out of ingredients for cooking. Personally I almost never have this problem - not even in the double rate week.

I run the kitchen 24/7. I use an 8 hour overnight and either 2 hourly or 30 minutes during the day. I did recently run out of flour but only because I took my eye off the ball. Easily remedied with some caravan trips. I almost always send caravans for coal in New World.

I never do repeatables for ingredients either. I consider that a total waste of energy.
The problem is that if you stockpile food you have all your raw materials locked up in inventory and are not breaking blocks to replenish them. You run the risk of having downtime on your kitchen or, worse, having to resort to the aforementioned energy sapping repeatables.
To get from point A to point B in the game takes a set amount of energy. So just use your food to make progress. You'll get to the same point in a shorter time.
The benefit of stockpiling for events is also debatable. Apart from my very first event and, I think, my first strongman event I have never not been able to complete an event.

Unless I'm missing something?............

Never been one for stockpilng food ( in-game or real life) I see food. I eat it. 😁

I HAVE been trying to stockpile a little to prepare for Atlantis until my Camp reaches a good level in that Region. I know I'll need it to finish Events.

Haven't run out of ingredients /coal / wood since early Egypt (currently Dragon of Fire, China.) But then again, I diversify my cooking. I still do Scandi & Egypt recipes / mines. I figure everything adds up to be of use, especially if I just need a small snack to complete a mine.

During DMW, I do all the wood, coal, fish, eel, rice, mushroom, & Chambers if Fortune mines. Then any mines with gems, followed by ruby / amethysts mines. After those, I do whatever else I feel like doing...

how useful are wood and stone in NW? I've got >22k of each, so I've been ignoring those repeatables today. (tbh I'm still a bit sick of the wood ones from atlantis 😉 )
edit: except the stony landslide, that's worth it for gems.

There is equipment that needs stone, depends if that's any good to you.
Though it need like 60k stone for each piece.
My stone was over 220k not so long ago.
Other than that don't need a great amount.
I have now gone and set up all the ones i'm not doing each day ready for postcards.

gamemaster yeah, one of the two stone items is already too weak and I'm still in early greece; the other isn't likely to be worth much by the time I reach NW. but maybe they'll do another equipment rebalance, or add something better 🙂 I'll have to remember to check the equipment list again in 6 months.

I think this time I'll focus on coal, silver, lemons, piranha, and maybe chili. then spend all my green rings and bait... and maybe dump my morning energy into the jewels?
edit: I'm also opening up halloween 2012 because it has an 8h repeatable with a guaranteed root.

Chani ...Also Diggy's 1st birthday for 2 repeatable mines with guaranteed root & maybe gems & rings. Plus 10 gems just for playing it, even if you've already completed it... must be worth 100 gems.
