Of course you're assuming you'll still be in the same region and still have the need for the said equipment. I've tried the very thing you are describing & by the time the Event was re-released, the "premium* pieces were equal to or below what I currently had in my Camp.

I expected that someone else would have already thought of it, but a quick search did not show any previous discussion.

In my low Egypt Diggy, sometimes it's been more beneficial to get multiples of the not-so-premium Event equipment. Then I can replace more the miniscule valued pieces.

Sometimes the extra you get in the Gift will be enough to cover the amount needed to purchase that extra piece.

Thanks for those tips. I did not find D n D dice in the gifts, but that possibility gives me another reason to hold those dice for future opportunities.

The free Event items are usually gifted by the following week or so. List gets updated as we get the links.

For new events, we usually get the free gift of event material ( dice for this event ) at about 1 week it's been going.
Usually it's small like 3 or 5, so i don't think we will get 10 to have enough to get the 2 top items.
This is not the first event that does this either, many have you only getting 1 top piece.

gamemaster don't think I've ever seen an event where you can get the 2 top items. It's always been an annoyance🙄

EDIT: almost forgot the Pirste Event gave enough items to get both halves of the ship...after Pixel created an add-on location.

Wild West 2 you could, 96 hats = 2 top items, was 97 hats in game. 😉

I got a surprise today when the Halloween 2018 event was offered for free. The top camp equipment items, Sanchez and Grandma, -- WaitWhat?! -- "Camp Equipment?" I guess anything can be called equipment.

OK, sorry. Back to the message. None of the top pieces were consumed, even though I bought at least 1 of them last year. Both showed 0/2. Hmm...

I checked my camp equipment and neither was there. Next stop was the wiki. Since this is a tiered event, these have different values depending on which region you are in. I believe that I moved up to a new region since last Halloween and I have already replace that camp equipment with better. Now I am seeing better versions offered.

Perhaps their experience is based on non-tiered events.

If I had not spent my leftover event materials (hands) on consumables, I may have had the opportunity to make an extra purchase this time.

Time will tell.

What was referred to is if you don't get to that next region OR you do, but you end up with a strong enough camp by the time it comes around again.
Then the new equipment might be useless.
I'm actually 2 regions higher since the Halloween 2018 event, so it could of worked for me as well.
BUT, my camp is strong and the equipment is of no use to me, go figure. 😆
