You don't mention what level you're on. While most new Events only require players to be past the first quest of Isis, players must be Level 35+ to participate in the old Events given for Free.
If you're not at LVL 35 yet, you won't see the Event as described above. You have until Monday night or early Tuesday (depending on when you get the game updates) to claim it. So if you're close, make sure you refresh your game to see the Event.
