pixel_player48046502 it can be very frustrating when one is used to zipping around, digging lots of tiles. I suggest viewing the challenge from another perspective. Rather than declare that "it can't be done," why not do the math and see if it might be technically possible for you to do it.
If you can do 5 blocks, how much are you generating over what timeframe? Is that 5000 in 30 minutes or during 5 hours? Calculate how many hours you will need, and see if you could do it. Doesn't mean you must do it, but the info will help you decide your best approach. It is part of the meaning of "challenge." It may well look impossible at first, but turns out you could do it! If after you do your calculation you realize that even with 17 days you still would not generate enough energy, focus on digging tiles that give you the best value.
Another way to approach it is to change your configuration set up so that it generates more energy during the day. For example, I usually have my day config set to around 18,000 per hour. Rather than put on night configuration (which takes 8.5 hours to generate 79;000), I altered daytime set-up to generate 45,000 in about 3 hours.
I set a timer or alarm to alert me when 2 or 4 hours have elapsed. I get some other stuff done in life and then have a break and enjoy a few minutes of selective tile digging.
One more hint: one of the best antidotes when I face a lot of 1000 and 1500 tiles and the going is slow, is clicking lots of tiles cheaply. So I go do Tutankhamen's Treasury in the Materials Mines. 5 per tile, except for 1 tile at 600, and guaranteed 1 gem every time, sometimes 2. Also a few coins &other bits & bobs throughout. I'm in China, and I find it can be a a slog when even my usual 15,000 -18,000 per hour doesn't deliver the fun-packed gameplay that it usually does.
