The debris you need to clear out is in your underground camp.
Your underground camp is accessed via your main camp screen....there is a brown tent with a green arrow pointing down on it....you click on the green arrow....see attached picture

Once you enter your underground camp you navigate up & down the underground camp rows by using the up & down green arrows on the left hand side & you return back to your main camp by clicking on the double green arrows pointing up with the red tent above them....see attached picture

The Diggy Wikipedia pages & this forum will become your best friends throughout your Diggys Adventure progress.
This Wiki link below contains information in relation to Grid Unlock....it shows how much materials are required to clear out each underground camp slot.

We have Double Materials Week just about to start which gives you double the amount of materials gained from repeatable mines contained in Materials Map & Older Stories.
Double Materials Week, Double Production Week & Grid Unlock Discount Week are a great way to stockpile & produce materials such as lumber, stone, coins, iron & bronze which are all required to remove the debris from your underground camp.
I do not suggest using gems to clear out the debris from your underground camp.....keep your gems for better things such as buying Older Stories, camp equipment, Professor Switch System & passive effects (Energy Saver & Experience Booster).
There are 6 rows in your underground camp.....2 rows each of 2, 3 & 4 high slots.
You can clear out any slot in any row without having to clear out the entire amount of each height row first.
Once you clear out slots in your underground camp that is where you place your camp equipment.
Camp equipment comes in 2, 3 & 4 high slots:
- You can only put 4 high camp equipment in the 4 high slots...but you can also put 2 & 3 high camp equipment in 4 high slots.
- You can only put 2 high camp equipment in the 2 high slots....as the 3 & 4 high camp equipment will not fit in the 2 high slots.
- You can put 2 & 3 high camp equipment in the 3 high slots....but you cannot put 4 high camp equipment in 3 high slots as they will not fit.
When looking at which camp equipment to acquire you need to check what game level & region is required to acquire the relevant piece of camp equipment.
Camp equipment can be acquired a number of different ways:
- Acquired from the region you are currently in.
- Acquired from free newly released Stories, Events & Special Weeks.
- Acquired from free re-released Stories.
- Awarded free from certain Achievements gained.
- Awarded free from certain purchased Older Unsegmented Stories.
- Acquired from purchased Older Unsegmented & Segmented Stories.
- Acquired from purchased Themes (portal only).
- Bought with "real money" from Special Event/Regional Passes/Packs.
Refer to the Wiki links below for both regeneration & capacity camp equipment that is currently available in Egypt region.

Whilst there are some fantastic Older Unsegmented & Segmented Stories available to purchase from the shop for either 100 or 500 gems....they are a great way to acquire some very powerful camp equipment pieces.
I produced some camp equipment spreadsheets in relation to these Older Unsegmented & Segmented Stories which make it very easy to compare which Older Stories have the most powerful camp equipment available.....you can check out these spreadsheets here

NOTE:
Especially as Double Production Week is just about to start there are quite a few Older Stories available that also have repeatable mines in them that actually give you double drops on things such as gems, precious jewels/stones, specific ingredients & special items (special items are required to acquire camp equipment).
You can check out what materials, items, gems, precious jewels/stones, camp equipment, ingredients, special items, green rings, speed potions, coins, etc that Older Unsegmented & Segmented Stories provide via each relevant Wiki page.

There is a spreadsheet in the above Wiki link that shows the gems gained from doing the Older Unsegmented Stories that are currently available for 100 gems.....some of these stories actually give you back more than 100 gems on the 1st time play through.
