huh, I've been in atlantis for 6 months and I'm done the rice achievements (seaweed sushi obliterated my rice and wood stockpiles, lol). I'm at the beginning of the final bamboo achievement too, and still haven't got around to finishing any china sidequests.

herbs, though, herbs are pure BS. And I doubt I'll finish copper before reaching the NW.

I'm in New World and copper, tin and iron ore are about 52-71% done.
Partner is only 36-52% done with those.
So another 3+ years and we might have them done.

How long were you in China?
My partner is on 43k out of 50k, she was in China so long i got to Greece when she finally moved to Atlantis.
Bamboo 11k out of 20k.
Hers is 18k out of 20k.
Looks like the key for those is stay in China , 😆

gamemaster I was in china roughly 6 months. I've been doing the rice repeatable again since not long after reaching atlantis, though.

I've stopped doing the black pearl repeatable actually, after all the xmas rings got me enough for all the atlantis equipment. maybe in a few months I'll see how many I've been getting from the ad chests, and whether I need to do the repeatable some more for greece equipment. then again, it's been 6 months and I haven't finished the first atlantis god, so maybe I'll have next year's xmas rings for greece 😛

Oh, and I'm aaalmost done coal. 🙂 I haven't been using much, even with a lot of my cooking being boiled lobster and seaweed soup.

Back to this post, 7 months after my last reply.

As of now, after more than a year with regular farming :

rice level 8 : 45867 / 50000 -> will be finished about next month. It certainly took much longer than expected.
bamboo level 8 : 11416 / 20000 -> 231 days again...
I really hope that newer players have access to far more rice and bamboo than me, while playing in the China region (i finished it more than 3 years ago).
black pearls level 8 : 72 / 130 -> april. Good. That's horrifically slow (a pearl every 3 days), but it's ongoing. It would be good if events (such as the christmas one) also gave rare resources from previous regions. For instance, when we have rings to collect and exchange: it was frustrating for me to be restricted to diamonds in the Chambers of Christmas fortune...

Now, the base ones. The ones we shouldn't be still trying to complete, after a few regions have been finished:

iron level 6 : 88518 / 100000 -> 49 days. In fact, more like 75 days as i'm generally limiting myself to 8 hours mine. It's exhausting enough as it is.
tin level 6 : 59291 / 100000 -> 256 days. 340 days with only 8 hours mine. Tin is really hard to come by, with a low output.
herbs level 6 : 19153 / 80000. Not even trying to figure out how long it would take me.

Basically, i'll be finished with new world's resources achievements before i'm done with the tin one (i abandoned the idea of completing the herbs achievement).

So... yes, i'm convinced rebalance is still needed.

I, too, am curious about the herbivore achievement. Like many others, I need coal, copper, tin and ore, but I can slog through the mines if I want to accelerate these. Is there anywhere to go to collect herbs? Is gameplay and the Green Ring fortune locations the only way to collect these? I've looked through the repeatable locations and I do not see a way to collect herbs. I'm in Atlantis, so the only Green Ring location with herbs available to me is the Egyptian Chamber of Fortune. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Mushroom Pit has an average of 7 herbs (range: 0 - 15) and 11 vegetable roots (range 6 - 26).
Feline Treasury has an average of 4 herbs (range: 0 - 12).

pixel_player42235645 the mushroom pit still has a few, and I've been finding them here and there in the atlantis main maps as tiles that look like seaweed's stuck in them, but no, there isn't really a good place to get herbs without green rings.

Fisrt of all, I'm stunned at how quickly you both responded. Thanks! I did not know that the mushroom pit had herbs, I thought it was only vegetable roots (and mushrooms, obviously). I can clear that mine once a day. It's very inexpensive. even if it's slow. I'm still level 5 at 10169/16000. Let's hope they re-balance this one. Thanks again!

So, as I only have herbs, tin and diamond achievements to complete, I came up with some calculations to estimate how long it would require to complete the herbivore achievement. I warn all of you: there are a lot of numbers. I'm pretty sure they're correct, but if you want to re-check them, go on.

I based these numbers on my experience on the game: i estimated it took me about 6 months to complete Egypt, same for Scandinavia, a year more or less for each of China, Atlantis and New World (well.. mostly, and i'm only talking about existing maps as of now, not the 29 remaining to be seen), and more than a year and a half for Greece.

Egypt : yields 1341 herbs with story quests. Repeatable mines give 7.2 herbs/day. So in 6 months: 2651.4 (achievement level 3 completed, level 4 started)
Scandinavia : 3212 on stories, 3.3/day on region repeatable mines (cumulated: 10.5/day). In 6 months: 2651.4+3212+1921.5=7784.9 herbs (still on level 4)
China : 2854 for stories, 2/day on new mines (12.5 cumulated on mines). In a year: 4562.5+2854+7784.9=15201.4 (level 4 completed, level 5 started)
Atlantis : 3579 for stories, no new repeatable (still 12.5 cumulated). In a year: 4562.5+3579+15201.4=23342..9 (level 5 completed, level 6 at least started)
Greece : 6047 for stories, 15.6/day on new mines (28.1 cumulated). In a year and a half: 15370.7+6047+23342.9=44760.6 (i.e. : _{20760,6/80000} for level 6 completion)
New World : 3770 up until now, 13.2/day (41.3 cumulated). In about a year: 15074.5+3770+44760.6=63605.1 (39605.1/ 80000 for level 6)
At that point, 40394.9 herbs remains to be harvested. With the most recent rate (41.3 herbs/day), it means 978 days - 2 years and 8 months.

That being said, my progress on level 6 is 25401/80000 (because i haven't been harvesting every mine since the beginning... and i still don't). That means at best 3 years and 7 months. Still a bit too much for such a basic resource, i think. ^^

Just a quick question. The wiki claims "Gifted materials count towards your Achievements." but I've not found that to be true. Was it ever true and has changed or did someone misinterpret something to think it was?

Some achievements seem totally impossible to attain....
I am level 510 - New World. I have been playing Diggy for 5-7 years now - honestly I can't remember when I started.
Now my problem isn't the New World achievements. Those 3 achievenments I am missing there (Diamonds, Volcano tears and Hero) I will eventually get done as I progress.
My problems are some of the early achievements. I checked with the wiki page and did some calculations....
Lets begin:

Joyspreader Level 6 out of 6, missing 57100. With 55 on my friendslist, that will take 1038 days to attain, around 3 years. Not totally unattainable.

Presentee Level 5 out of 6. Missing 10700 + 100000 from level 6. Totally 110700. As mentioned i have 55 friends, and with the friends add system fairly broken (see elsewhere on the board) the chance of new friends getting added is almost 0. Out of the 55 friends there is only about a handful who is playing - some actively, others occationally. On a good week I might get 20 gifts, about 3 a day. If all weeks remain good then it will "only" take 36900 days to complete this achievement. That is more than 100 years. Seriously? I am not even going to live that long, and will the game be around that long, so my great great grand children can finish it for me? Insane!

Energizer Level 5 out of 6. Missing 2700 + 10000 from level 6. Total 12700. out of the 20 gifts on a good week, there is maybe 5 windmills. Meaning I can place 5 windmills per a week on friends camps. So this should take 2540 weeks, or 17780 days to complete. Nearly 50 years. I doubt I will even live that long.

Tin Level 6 out of 6. Missing 43000. Doing both repeatable twice a day it will result in about 50 tins each day. Around 850 day, nearly 3 years till finish. Not impossible.

Iron man Level 6 out of 6. Missing 26500. Doing both repeatables twice a day it will amount to also 50 iron ores a day. That's 530 days. Possible.

Herb Level 6 out of 6. Missing 30500. About 20 each day doing repeatables. 1525 days to go, slightly more than 4 years. Questionable.

Rice Level 8 out of 8. Missing 20000. Getting upto 200 a day from repeatables. A 100 days more, I can almost see an end here.

Quite funny that I see an achievement that as doable if it takes me less than 10 years to finish. But seriously, it is a long long time. And the ones with 50 or 100 years to go, just makes me wonder what the programmer was thinking....
