Until now, the desktop version of the game was running on an interactive content format plugin invented by Adobe - Flash.
But as open standards like HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly have matured over the past several years, most now provide many of the capabilities and functionalities that plugins pioneered and have become a viable alternative for content on the web. Given this progress, Adobe is planning to end-of-life Flash.
As Adobe announced that it would stop supporting the Flash soon, it was necessary to adjust the game so it can run without the Flash technology. Therefore, we decided to make the game available in the open format standard - WebGL.
More information about the end of the support for the Adobe Flash can be found here
The WebGL change will apply only to the desktop version of the game. It will bring new graphics, new features and new possibilities to the game so the excitement on our side is huge! In the near future, Diggy will become a subject of multiple changes and we all work hard together to create even better gaming experience.
