I have collected all of the bells but Merlin will not give me the key? Help!

Make sure you click on him & he moves so you can get the key.

pixel_player68931275 I would like to know as well. I have collected all of the time but 4 which I’m guessing those are the ones in the tent. It says I only collected 1 bell though. Where can I find the others if I didn’t collect them while completing the tasks?

SO I GOT 371 OF 375 TILES and 4 left in Merlin's tent behind locked door and only 1 bell very confusing

Merlin tells you that each location contains 1 bell & you have to return to him after collecting all 8. So you continue on with the Main Quests of the Event & come back to give him the bells. You then are given access to the key to unlock that gate.
In order to move on to the next location, you must do the quest which requires you to VISIT all 3 Challenge Mines.

I have cleared all the swamp screens and have one bell in my pack. Are u saying that after we receive EACH bell we need to return to Merlin? Thanks for all your help, past, present and future...😉

If you're certain you have all the bells, and neither standing next to him not clicking him gets him to move, create a SUPPORT TICKET: https://portal.pixelfederation.com/en/diggysadventure/support
Choose Gameplay category from lower part of the page to begin the form.

🐦 Added note, sometimes clearing game cache/ cookies and refreshing the game will help this type of situation.

pixel_player58486295 did you read my reply above? You need to find 1 bell in each of the 8 location mines. Then, after finding all 8 bells, go back to Merlin & give him the bells. He'll give you access to the tent key.

If you're having trouble opening the 2nd location, check your Quest Tab. There's a quest requiring you to VISIT all 3 Challenge mines.

I have the eight bells, have gone back to Merlin, he has said thank you, but still cannot open the lock to get the remaining 4 items, any ideas?

pixel_player47240628 There's a key outside the hut which can be collected after 8 bells are given to merlin. Did you get that?

There is one bell in each of the V2019 main locations. You can't do anything with them until you have collected all 8. Then return to Merlin. He will move aside so you can collect the key and access the tent for a reward.

What exactly is your question? Merlin gives you access to the tent key after you give him the bells. It's currently behind him.
