This has been addressed in several other posts. If you look at the top of the now—black screen, you'll see that there's no real defined border, like a wall, buildings, or trees all the way across. This is nothing new & means you must was to the very edge of the seemly abyss to have the rest of the scene be revealed once again. As mentioned above, the leaves are the path to take.
