Muffin1739 Whenever something like that happens it means some task was left undone. Rarely is it some sort of glitch in the game. So always look for something you didn't do, didn't get, or still can do. Too often players think if they can't continue in one way in the game then they are somehow stuck, which almost always isn't true. If you can do anything else at all, then do it. That might just be the thing that allows you to continue in the way you want to in the first place.
