DirtyDust74 I have bought up to level 3 for exp booster, which gives 3% chance of getting double exp. I have bought up to level 8 for energy rebate boost, which gives 2% chance; level 9 will cost me 300 gems to improve to 2.25% chance of a full refund on energy spent on a tile. I get a thrill when I get full rebate on a big tile, like a jewel or even an 8400 tile. Especially when you don't have a ton of energy, that rebate gives one more chance to get a little further. It is more worthwhile if you have limited gems. Plus it takes more upgrades to make it really worthwhile. I don't know if there is a limit to it, but I expect so.
Update on my regen rate. Since last post on this thread, improvement rate has not kept up with tile cost demands, but improvement is there. It being a Saturday, I have set day camp to generate 41,400 every 1 hour 9 minutes. Normally I have it at 52,900, which needs 1 hour, 31 to fully refill. The 41400 is great if you can be sure you can check on the game every hour; if not, it will just sit, fully charged, not making more energy.
My overnight camp is set high at 183,792, which needs 8.5 hours to refill. This a.m., it was at 151,000 but after doing the energy cards feature and getting 14,000, it had continued to increase and was approx. 171,000 by the time I had coffee and was ready to spend it all on Ice Clown challenge 2, where I now only have 48 x 2730 tiles left to click. Incidentally, before I went with 41400, I did the math: at 52,900 it would take 4.5 hours to click what then remained (58 tiles), whereas at 41400 it would take less than 4 hours.
This means that while I do think the equipment on offer should be improved, my camp is well constructed. I will have completed the entire 14-day event in 4 days.
Re "rushing to get to next region." It depends on your preferred style of gameplay. What works for others might not work for you. There is no one right way to play. The strategy that appeals to you is the one to adopt first. See what tips others have, try the ones that sound good to you, but find ways that make it fun for you.
