In your camp, you should see a gift icon off to the right, along with the "new" icon. Click the gift & that'll open VDay 2017 for you. I think you have until the 20th to accept the event.
I found it. On your camp screen there is a present on the right side. Click on it to claim the event.

Heilspawn I just read you must be at level 35 to claim events.
I had clicked on Valentine's Day 2017 and had it for a bit on my tablet, but now it is gone.

So did you played it & it disappeared? You don't have 2017 on your maps page? That's weird...id contact support. On your tablet, under settings, there's a big button to contact them.
Tifa2001UK that's normal, events are only available for a limited time, after they've been free twice they eventually show up in the store for gems.
